Seller's description

Vintage Leather Zippered Cosmetic Bag This bag is in excellent condition with no holes and the leather is soft and supple with recent conditioning. The inside lining is in good condition, but there are a few pen stains. This is likely from the 70s, but exact date is unknown. It’s a brown leather zippered bag with a nylon lining. It measures 10” wide by 6 3/4” high. From smoke-free cat-friendly home. Always happy to answer questions or take additional measurements or pictures. Will ship next business day, but often same day when I can. Thanks for looking!

Evidence

POSITIVE
  • photo 1: The item is a leather zippered pouch with proportions consistent with a cosmetic or accessory bag.
  • photo 2: The zipper pull is visibly stamped YKK, indicating a commercial zipper but not specifically Coach.
  • photo 1: The brown leather exterior appears soft and worn, which is compatible with an older leather accessory, though not diagnostic of Coach.
  • photo 1: brown leather zippered pouch consistent in age-appearance with 1970s-1990s secondhand leather goods
  • photo 2: YKK zipper also used by Coach in the 1990s, so not inconsistent on its own
NEGATIVE
  • photo 1: No visible COACH wordmark, horse-and-carriage, creed patch, hangtag, or other Coach identifier.
  • photo 3: The interior is fully fabric-lined with synthetic-looking nylon, unlike many classic unlined glove-tanned Coach leather styles.
  • photo 2: The visible YKK zipper and generic pouch construction do not establish Coach manufacture.
  • photo 4: The pouch has simple generic construction and no visible Coach-specific hardware or model features.
  • photo 5: Interior lining shows staining and wear; the seller also states there are pen stains.
  • photo 1-6: no COACH wordmark, horse-and-carriage, creed patch, or hangtag visible anywhere
  • photo 3, photo 4, photo 5, photo 6: fully nylon-lined interior with overlocked seam - vintage Coach classics of this leather type are unlined suede-back glove-tanned, not nylon-lined
  • photo 1: simple zippered pouch / cosmetic-bag silhouette with no turnlock, no strap, no catalog Coach classic features
  • photo 2: generic YKK zipper pull with no Coach marking; YKK alone is not a Coach identifier
MISSING INFORMATION
  • photo 1-7: No straight-on exterior and interior views showing all panels, seams, and any hidden labels.
  • photo 3-7: No close-up of the entire zipper tape, zipper ends, or any interior label/seam tag.
  • photo 1-7: No country-of-manufacture mark, leather stamp, or brand marking is visible.
  • photo 1-7: Seller-stated dimensions are available, but a scale view of the closed pouch and all corners would help confirm whether it is a cosmetic bag rather than a handbag.
  • photo of any interior leather creed patch or stamped mark straight-on in raking light - none shown
  • photo of any exterior brand stamp, hangtag, or hardware engraving - none shown
  • confirmed zipper brand on slider back and tape, and full exterior views including bottom corners
AUTHENTICITY CONCERNS
  • ⚠ photo 1-7: No Coach identifiers are visible, so Coach manufacture cannot be supported from the listing photos.
  • ⚠ photo 3: The fabric-lined construction is more consistent with a generic cosmetic pouch than a classic vintage Coach glove-tanned leather bag.
  • ⚠ photo 2: A YKK zipper is not a red flag by itself, but it provides no Coach-specific authentication evidence.
