Seller's description

Very cool purse found at an estate sale. Not sure what time period but my guess is between 1920-1950. Clean inside. Looks like tapestry on the outside. Clasp works well. Definitely a statement piece. Ships USPS ground advantage Monday through Friday. Thanks for coming by!

Evidence

POSITIVE
  • photo 1: Clearly a handbag with a structured frame, short shoulder strap, and decorative textile exterior.
  • photo 6: Ruler suggests a small evening-purse size.
NEGATIVE
  • photo 1: Exterior is all-over tapestry/textile with figurative motifs, not Coach glove-tanned leather or recognizable Coach signature canvas.
  • photo 2: Interior is lined in black synthetic-looking fabric; no Coach creed patch or label is visible.
  • photo 1: The closure is a simple cylindrical frame clasp, not a recognizable vintage Coach turnlock.
  • photo 5: Hardware and strap attachments appear generic and no Coach wordmark, carriage, or hangtag is visible.
  • photo 3: Close exterior view shows decorative tapestry only, with no Coach branding.
MISSING INFORMATION
  • A straight-on interior photo showing the entire back wall and any sewn-in labels.
  • Close-ups of both sides of the clasp, strap attachments, and any hidden maker marks.
  • Bottom, side, and interior-seam photos to better date the purse and assess construction.
  • Seller-stated dimensions and any information about provenance or materials.
AUTHENTICITY CONCERNS
  • ⚠ No Coach identifiers are visible, and the textile construction, synthetic-looking lining, and generic frame closure are inconsistent with the classic vintage Coach handbag population.
  • ⚠ The decorative tapestry motif and frame-purse construction suggest a non-Coach vintage or reproduction evening bag rather than a Coach product.
